The Story Behind Our Parish Partner Program

Legacy Media Partners was born in West-Central Ohio, in a part of the country where the parish is more than a place of worship — it is the center of community life. It is where families gather for fish fries on Friday nights during Lent. It is where children receive their sacraments and where grandparents are remembered at funeral Masses. It is the thread that connects generations.

When we founded this company, we knew from the beginning that it had to give back to the parishes that shaped us. Not as an afterthought or a marketing gesture, but as a structural commitment built into the way we do business. That is how the Parish Partner Program was born.

The model is simple. Ten percent of every milestone film project is tithed directly to the parish associated with the family's occasion. When a family commissions a First Communion Film, ten percent goes to the parish where the sacrament was celebrated. When a family orders a Confirmation Chronicle, the same tithe applies. It is automatic, it is transparent, and it requires nothing extra from the family.

Why a tithe? The word "tithe" is deliberate. In the Catholic tradition, tithing is an act of gratitude — a recognition that what we have been given comes with a responsibility to give back. We see our work the same way. Every family that trusts us with their story is giving us something precious, and the least we can do is ensure that a meaningful portion of that trust flows back to the community.

How it works in practice. When a family begins a project with us, we ask which parish or faith community is associated with the occasion. After the project is completed and the final payment is received, we calculate ten percent of the project total and send a check directly to the parish. We also send the family a letter confirming the tithe, so they can see exactly how their project supported their community.

For parishes, the program is completely free to participate in. There are no fees, no obligations, and no requirements. We simply ask that parishes let their families know the program exists — a mention in the bulletin, a note on the parish website, or a flyer in the vestibule. We provide all the materials.

Beyond the parish. The tithe model extends to other community organizations as well. Our Eagle Scout Film includes a ten percent tithe to the Scout's BSA troop charter organization. We believe that the organizations that shape young people deserve to share in the celebration of their achievements.

The impact so far. We are a young company, and we are honest about that. But the families who have worked with us understand that choosing Legacy Media Partners means their project does double duty — preserving their family's story and strengthening the community institutions that made that story possible.

If your parish is interested in learning more about the program, our Parish Partners page has all the details, including how the tithe is calculated, which film occasions qualify, and how to spread the word to parish families. You can also reach us directly at [email protected].

We believe that family preservation and community support are not separate missions. They are the same mission, and the Parish Partner Program is how we live that belief every day.

For families ready to begin a project, you can build a custom quote in about five minutes. We are currently accepting projects for May 2026, with a waitlist forming for summer.
